Very unpleasant stay

The room was very dirty and very small. There was a hole in the bathroom door and lots of mould in the shower cabin. It was the worst place I have ever stayed in. The staff didn't speak English at all and wasn't nice. The only positive aspect was good lication

This place is completely overrated. Firstly it was REALLY DIRTY and dusty, like they didn't care at all. We arrived and they had given us a room with two separate beds when we had booked a double bed room. We went out and had dinner, my partner drank a couple of glasses of wine and I was exhausted (since I have a heart disease), when we got to the room they hadn't changed the bed and they told us to wait. After waiting in the hallway for over an hour we asked, a bit desperately, to have our room ready or change the room, ot was later than 1 am and I couldn't stand on my feet, my partner let them know about my chronic cardiac disease and the young staff member didn't even look at us or answered. My partner got angry and the manager came down shouting, telling us we were drunk (we were not, I cannot drink since I have my condition and he wasn't even tipsy, but even if we were... what was his point? is it illegal to drink alcohol? apparently the extremely rude manager didn't tolerate it) and even though we repeatedly said that I was ill and needed to rest, he told us to leave, kicking us out. I fainted, had to get my emergency medication and fortunately other managers from another hotel nearby took us in and saved the night. I don't recommend you come to this hotel if you don't wanna have a horrible experience.

Really friendly and helpful. Very good service. Great room with a beautiful view. Clean and very good value for money. Booked tours at a good discount and cheap airport shuffle. Would highly recommend.

For the price it’s a decent place

Don’t get me wrong it is not 5 * or close but for the price it’s perfectly fine, in my opinion it’s more of a short stay hotel... but it’s comfortable, everything in the room was working ... was warm and simple and the balcony rooms have the most amazing views of the sea and Istanbul, not to mention you are in the heart of Istanbul for such a good price! The front desk staff are friendly and accommodating, it’s cheap and cheerful. More for solo and younger travels than for family’s in my opinion.

very good for the price, wonderful view

Please do not expect a 5 star hotel experience for the cheap price this hotel charges. We arrived late but informed the staff ahead of time and had no problem checking into the room we had booked. Some things were out of order, but everything one needs works fine. Pros: staff was very friendly, bed was very comfortable, beautiful view on the sea, balcony, clean towels, staff speaks multiple languages, cute outdoor seating area, location is great for those who wants to explore the historic Istanbul. Cons: no mosquito nets on window, according to locals the parking fees are overpriced (8€) and your car may be blocked. Nearby streets also charge 5€ per night for parking although it should be free (street mafia :/). According to a local you may choose to call the police to report the illegal fee charges for street parking. Too bad we only found out about it on the last day of our trip. Hotel staff will also tell you to pay for the street fees which according to locals could mean that the staff is in on the parking scam. Local people are very welcoming and happy to see travelers. It was a pleasure to mingle with the locals.

if you want to participate in one of series of (Survivor) then this is the write hotel ..everything bad is present and the challenge how to remain safe and survive!!! dirty rooms ,bad attitudes ,terrible food ,....and seem their staff always try to suck money... Im surprised with previous comments!!! with respect to guests , I escaped from hotel even didn't ask for my money as tried to safe my family!!

Wouldn’t let us stay in our already paid for room because we arrived late. Put us in a shabby room down the street for that night and claimed they’d let us have our actual room the next day. Then they refused to let us have our room for the next two nights, both of which had been paid for. Allowed us to eat their poor excuse of a breakfast before we left to find a room at a different hotel. Stay away from these rude people, they are a poor representation of an overall great city.

Arrived to discover they had sold our room to someone else because we were ‘50 minutes late’. Put us in a terrible accommodation for the first night and told us we’d get the room we’d actually booked for the remaining 2 nights of our stay, but this turned out to be a lie. They continually wasted our time trying to sort something but in reality they were too afraid to own up and admit they were scamming us. Lie after lie after lie; horrible people, horrible place. Dining area for breakfast also felt like an unfinished building site.

Great Hotel!

Excellent stay at Divas Hotel Istanbul. Visited with a friend for a short 3 night stay. Normally would stay at much more expensive hotels in Istanbul. Booked by my friend as a budget stay, I was quite apprehensive as to how it would be. I was pleasantly surprised! The hotel was clean, in a good location, close to the main attractions. Room was small with a small shower room, but it was clean, which was my main concern beforehand. Our room was on the 6th floor with an amazing view of the sea!! Access to the hotel is a little difficult as its located on a short but quite steep hill. Probably not suitable for the elderly and people with mobility issues. The staff at the reception were fantastic. Always happy and chatty. We built up a good relationship with them and they got to know us too. Overall, very happy with our stay and would definitely stay here again with friends.

BEWARE: SCAM ARTISTS AND LIARS. JUST HORRIBLE

If you are even considering making a reservation at this hotel, am a licensed director of a travel agency and my advice: RUN!!!!!! Be very aware that the management and employees of this hotel are a bunch of liars and scam artists that will take your money and don't even give you a room. They are a bunch of sleazy thieves that think that they can get away with ripping off people. Read all the recent reviews and you will see for yourself. My mistake is that I didn’t read the reviews before booking this horrible hotel. My story: I am a licensed director of a travel agency. I made a confirmed reservation for my clients on April 5th. When the clients went to the hotel, the hotel refused to honor the reservation because it was full. Right away my client called me and I called the hotel to complain. The receptionist told me that the hotel is full and they cannot provide 2 rooms to the clients. The hotel told me that they forgot to update the availability in their reservation system (which is their mistake or maybe their way to scam people). So I asked if they can provide another alternative, they clearly said they can't help and they will cancel the reservation I made so I can get a refund. Then I found out that the hotel did NOT cancel the reservation and consider it a NO SHOW. Their explanation: the client didn't understand the receptionist and that they could give them 2 rooms but in a different building which is full of BS. I even called the hotel twice to speak with a manager and face them with what the receptionist has clearly told me on the phone but they tried to be sleazy and each time I speak with a different person with a fake name (they are SO sleazy that they will give you a wrong/fake name so you cannot hold them accountable to what they say to you). Long story short: They denied that I even spoke to them and that they confirmed to me that there was no availability at their hotel. SO, if you don’t want to be scammed, stay away from this sleazy hotel. And from my side, I am going to write about this hotel a nasty review in every hotel review board I will encounter and I will tell all my clients/ partners who travel frequently to Istanbul about your scam and sleazy ways of doing business. And to the hotel management, in this sacred month of Ramadan , I am praying that you run bankrupt very soon so people will be saved from your scams.
