My visit to Goreme in the Cappadocia Region of Turkey

Jun 29, 2019

We stayed at the Pashabelle Hotel in Goreme with the most wonderful host Susie Wilson. We had a marvellous 4 night stay and the rooms were so well appointed and comfortable with the loveliest views of Rose Valley. The hotel has so much character and is a short stroll into the Goreme Village. Susie’s breakfasts are legendary and she gives great advice and can arrange tours, cars, balloon flights etc and certainly pointed us weary but happy travellers to some really interesting places. Susie is an Australian who has lived in Turkey for a decade and her experience and knowledge was invaluable to us. It is worth contacting Susie well in advance to arrange the balloon flights as they fill very quickly during ‘The Season’. My greetings and thanks to her for such a memorable stay.

Lovely place away from the touristy traffic

May 4, 2019

Suzie was extremely hospitable and delightful. The hotel was being tastefully remodeled while we were there. Silk Road hotel was quiet and comfortable, away from all of the tourist traffic, yet just a short stroll to the center of Göreme. Watching the ballooms take off from the upper level terrace was super. Looking forward to another visit after the renovations are complete.

Warm welcome in this tastefuly decorated hotel

Apr 28, 2019

Susie went the extra mile to make us feel welcome and comfortable for our stay. The hotel is spotlessly clean and elegantly decorated with some lovely Iznik ceramics which gave that extra special touch. The whole hotel has been revamped in fact and the yellow bedding in the photos replaced with rather chic embroidered bed linen. Wonderful breakfast. Highly recommended.

Beautiful Home Away from Home in Goreme

Aug 18, 2018

This lovely hotel is owned by Susie - a gracious Aussi expat who has spent the last two years meticulously restoring what was formerly a backpacker hotel. The rooms and bathrooms have been completely re-done and rooftop terrace with amazing views has been added. Since Susie has lived in Cappadocia for the past 8 years, she is a font of local knowledge. The location is just on the outskirts of Goreme (totally walkable and quiet). She does personalized tours on which she shares her hard won expat knowledge - the best places to eat, shop, etc (recommended!) Great spot for couples and single travelers (totally gay friendly as well) - you’ll feel completely at home. Upcoming additions - Turkish cooking classes on a rooftop terrace with incredible views and an in-door pool(!) Highly recommended for travelers wanting to feel like an “insider” in Goreme in a friendly, beautifully appointed environment. Also - do the hot air balloon ride! I went with Royal Balloons. A magical experience flying over the fairy chimneys and seeing the 150 other balloons in the air.

Best place to stay in Cappadocia!

Aug 18, 2016

This is the place you want to stay in Göreme! Really beautifull hotel, with a nice place outside to stay and have breakfast. The rooms are super-clean! I stayed a month in Turkey and this is the place where I slept the best!! It's not far from the center of the city but in a very quiet place and you can see all the air balloon in the morning (amazing!)and on the valleys around. You can reach every beautifull places in Göreme very quickly. You will be very well received, people are so nice, taking care of you but paying attention not to bother you. This is really the place to stay in Cappadocia!
